Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), also known as Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), is a diagnosis that affects an individual's ability to regulate their own emotions.
Some of the symptoms of BPD include frequent mood swings, unstable relationships with others, a fear of abandonment, and an unstable sense of identity.
BPD often occurs as a result of trauma, particularly in the form of childhood abuse and abandonment.
Other disorders, such as CPTSD and Autism, can sometimes be mistaken for BPD (and vice a versa), as there is a lot of overlap between their symptoms.
